Oh, So Bittersweet!

Out now!

“Beautiful music with a lyrical edge.”
— Bill Flanagan, Sirius XM

“Really badass. Impressive.”
— Don Was, Musician and President of Blue Note Records

The harmony from the enamoring vocals rests neatly against the acoustic guitar progressions in the melodically bitter-sweet single which has already left me impatient for the emerging artist to release a debut album.

— Amelia Vandergast, A&R Factory

ABOUT

“Cutest little boy in the entire world.”

— Carrie Crowell, Sister…super biased

Lyrics

Neckties And Suicides:

by Jakob Leventhal

Verse

You walk along the hall

Staring at each wall

Wishing you were already dead

Hold up honey

Take your time

Walk along the lakeside

And steer clear of a necktie suicide

Chorus

A rain drops a heavy thing

When it’s crashing on your skull

A smiles quite a terrible sting

When your heart is barely whole

The city’s quite a lonely mess

When your mind is in a lull

Verse

I’m a poet who cannot speak

I can barely read

So maybe this time you take the lead

Hold up honey

Take your time

Smoke one and find some peace

With the person that you hate the least

Chorus

A rain drops a heavy thing

When it’s crashing on your skull

A smiles quite a terrible sting

When your heart is barely whole

The city’s quite a lonely mess

When your mind is in a lull

Solo

Chorus

A rain drops a heavy thing

When it’s crashing on your skull

A smiles quite a terrible sting

When your heart is barely whole

The city’s quite a lonely mess

When your mind is in a lull

Outro

So now I’ve, gotta plead

You take the lead

You take the lead

You take the lead

 This Love Is Sarcastic

by Jakob Leventhal

Verse

Under millions of miles

Of blind snakes and profiles

This love is dead yet still breathing

While I sit in the bathroom dry heaving

Last night's terrible decisions

Stand with the suns inhibitions

A heart broken method rage

Willed by whisky and a coming of age

Pre-Chorus

Oh, this love is suffocating in the smoke

It may be done for good

But I don’t know

Chorus

And while this love may be sarcastic

At least it’s folk

At least it’s folk

Nobody has to know

Nobody has to know

Verse

My youth has turned me angry

My angers made me weird

I enjoy the fakings and the take me’s

The worlds romance is all but seared

The age of digital goodnights

Sent from everyone’s porn device

Me emotions are rather concise

It’s nothing new and nothing nice

Pre-Chorus

Oh, this love is suffocating in the smoke

It may be done for good

But I don’t know

Chorus

And while this love may be sarcastic

At least it’s folk

At least it’s folk

Nobody has to know

God, Nobody has to know

Solo

Choral Section

Chorus

And while this love may be sarcastic

At least it’s folk

At least it’s folk

Nobody has to know

God, Nobody has to know
